It looks like you're patronising your candidates. Would you like help?

So I'm up for this tech-support job at an Australian telco, which requires me to sit a test demonstrating my level of IT literacy. It's all done online, so I can do it from home.
I sit down, prepared with my cup of tea, Judge Judy in the background, and Google open in another window so I can cheat my arse off. Bring it on. Bring what? Bring it.

"It" turns out to be a Java simulation of Office 2000.

Office 2000 running on Windows 95.

Cutting, pasting, opening, closing, undoing, and redoing, in Office 2000 on Windows 95.

My personal favourite, question 12:

"Display different animated characters you can use for the Office Assistant."

The punchline?

I had to cheat.

...

Twice.

Update: Having met with the HR person from said telco today, apparently I'm the first person to score 100% on all questions this year.
